{Bliss Weddings Market}

Angela and Ryan are interested in having their own Wedding Website to communicate with their attendants and guests. They aren't alone: wedding websites have become very popular. Couples have many web hosting options at various price points. However, there are also many options for free Wedding Websites.

The following are some of the best FREE Wedding Websites I've found:

  1. mywedding.com

  2. Brides.com wedding website

  3. Weddingbells.ca

  4. Wedding Website at MomentVille

  5. eWedding

  6. Also... there is the option of having a wedding blog hosted through one of the many blogging sites [such as Blogger]

What a couple chooses to include in their website is entirely up to them, however, most websites feature RSVP, Maps, Wedding Party Bios, Accommodation Links, Photos, Special Information pertaining to the Ceremony or Reception, and Contact Information.

Everything else in this world seems to be online; it only makes sense that wedding correspondence is there, too. Additionally, saving the extra paper and postage required for RSVP's is both cost effective and environmentally conscious. For this reason, wedding websites will only become more popular.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom when it comes to Wedding Websites?

City of Love

I'm snowed-in with my recovering boy today in search of a pick-me-up. These prints from Irene Suchocki's City of Love series have put a smile on my face and I felt like today was a good day to share them. After all, Valentine's is only 2.5 weeks away.

Couldn't we all use a little extra love in our lives?

. . .

8x10 Fine Art Prints are available from her Etsy shop for $30 and Valentine's Cards for $4.50. She'll print in almost any size imaginable; check out her Rates.
[A word to the wise: you may want to hurry and snatch these lovelies up. Irene just signed a deal with Urban Outfitters! A canvas print of "Paris is for Lovers" will soon grace Urban Outfitters shelves].

i do[g]

I spent the day nursing my 10 month old puppy back to being 100% {he had his man-altering surgery today and is feeling a little under the weather}. His puppy-dog-eyes just break my heart.

{On a happier day last month}

It got me thinking how important our best buddy is to us and how [when the day comes] he will be included in our big day.

Being the dog lover I am, I always enjoy it when couples choose to include their pets in their weddings. One of the first weddings where I saw this done was Adam Sandler's. His English Bulldog was his best man!

{wiki Fido}

. . .

Here are some great ways of including canine family members:

A Ringbearer

{Katie Moos via Santa Barbara Wedding Chic Blog}

A Babysitter

{Julie & Johnny's Wedding via the knot}

An Attendant

{A Loft Wedding in NYC via the knot}

A "Nerve-Calmer"

{Showgum Studio, Canberra}

A Watch Dog

{Alison & Bleu's Personal Stuff}

. . .

Dogs can be walked down the aisle by flower girls or other junior attendants - however, judging by the look on Jennifer Aniston's face in the new He's Just Not That Into You trailer, it's probably the best idea to avoid asking a bridesmaid to walk Fido down the aisle. An industry based on puppy garments for special events such as Weddings has emerged and websites like Paw Palace will help you outfit your pup in a tux. Additionally, Etsy is FULL of animal accessories to dress up your dog. {Here you will find bows, fancy collars, flowers, and other personalized accessories to give your dog his or her own "wedding style"}.

Would you include your dog in your Wedding Ceremony?

Arms of a Woman, Amos Lee

I've been a fan of this song for some time now; Amos Lee has a brilliant voice.

I think it would work nicely for a First Dance or as Processional music.

Lyrics:
I am at ease in the arms of a woman.
Although now,
most of my days i spend alone.
A thousand miles,
from the place i was born.
But when she wakes me,
she takes me back home.

Favour Follow-Up.

As I was browsing the pretty colour palettes currently featured on All Things Lovely, I came across this adorable image.

{All Things Lovely}

Angie & Ryan: this retro {and very rustic} wheelbarrow would be adorable for sapling favours at your reception or envelopes of birdseed at your ceremony, don't you think?

"It's like rain on your wedding day..."

Ironic, indeed.

Most brides don't dream of rain clouds and grey skies on their big day. However, as in the case of this Fall couple, rain can add something special. {I love the effect the rain has on this wedding}.

After all, some say if it rains on your wedding day it will bring luck.

DIY Decor

{Martha}

It seems as though I can't move away from these jars! They are so simple yet so stunning.

I really love the tinted Mason Jars shown above, however I haven't been able to find them anywhere. That is, until Kristin of Bridal Buzz shared her brilliant DIY Instructions.
How Clever!?

Follow these instructions to turn this...

... into this!

On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for too long have strangled our politics.

A Mountie Wedding.

Ever since my trip to Regina and viewing the beautiful wedding photos on Thankful I have had Mountie-inspired weddings on the brain.
{Please Note: before you ask... this is not a sneaky way of announcing my Mountie-inspired wedding}.

While I was recently talking-weddings with a friend {who also loves a Mountie} I jumped at the chance to create her an inspiration board just-for-fun.

If she and her honey were planning a wedding it may begin with the following inspiration board:

Colour Palette: Red, charcoal, and white with hits of caramel.

{Photo Credits - clockwise from top left}

Thanks for letting me do this for you, C: it was a lot of fun to start planning a 'mock wedding.' I hope you enjoy this Inspiration Board {even if it is just-for-fun at this point}.

[For more Mountie Inspiration check out Rosealee & Nick's Wedding on Flickr].

Pre Owned Wedding Dresses

During such unstable times - both environmentally and economically speaking - it can be very stressful to plan a wedding. For this reason, it is always great when you find a helpful website.

I was excited this morning when Kathryn {aka snippet&ink} shared PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com, a site advertising used {designer} wedding dresses at a reduced cost.

[Vera Wang for $1800 US]

After navigating the website I was very impressed. Brides can search for dresses by designer, size, silhouette, neckline, size and location. Furthermore, you can sign up for weekly notifications so you will stay on top of the newest dresses available.

Although this concept will not be for everyone, I think it's worth a look. It's a great Eco- & Recession- friendly site for the bride who is socially aware but unwilling to compromise style.

What are your thoughts? Would you buy a used Wedding Dress?

Bird Cake Inspiration

Although their guests are going to enjoy Pie for dessert, Ryan and Angela are going to have a mini cake for a traditional cake-cutting. The couple is lucky enough to have a close family friend who has offered to create a cake for them to do so. Below are a few examples of bird-inspired wedding cakes that would work as a one-tier mini cake.

I love the twigs used here as well as the tree stump base. It is also interesting to see a cake without a traditional 'cake topper.' I kind of like the effect of the mini birds placed sporadically around the cake; however, as a one tier it would be so cute with a pair of tiny birds amidst twigs on the top, don't you think?

{Cake by K. Rose Cakes via ritzy bee}

Better yet, put your bird cake-toppers in a nest! How adorable is this cake? Although simple in design, I love the effect of the rustic nest against the perfectly-iced white cake. For added colour, you could add a couple of bold flowers or choose coloured birds for in the nest.

Also, remember the adorable cake topper we found on Etsy:

{Middleburg}

This would work beautifully on the simplest of cakes. {I also love that you can personalize the banner to read your date, your names, "just married," or any other special message: what a keepsake}.

Trash the Dress

I am usually not a fan of trash the dress photo shoots {OR tossing the bride's bouquet... but that's another story}. *Cringe.*

That being said, my opinion has changed significantly after seeing this beautiful video.

Shootin' at the Slough - Cheryl + Andrew's TTD // Vancouver from StillMotion on Vimeo.

The Vancouver wedding of "Mr. and Mrs. Milkshake" was gorgeous; however, it was their Trash the Dress footage that blew me away. Not many couples / photographers / cinematographers could make "shootin' at the slough" look so beautiful. Toronto's Still Motion did a fantastic job.

I'm no longer a 'hater.'

Indie I Do - Today!

Looking for ideas and vendors to pull off a non-traditional, unique, or off beat theme wedding?

Indie I Do, Vancouver's Alternative Wedding Show, is the first of its kind in Canada and going on today at historic Heritage Hall. {3102 Main Street, Vancouver}.

This event is produced by lotus events and Blue Olive Photography and is sure to provide a tonne of unique inspiration. {Check out the Vendor List}. Tickets are $20.00 at the door if you can make it!

How To: Elope with Style

I couldn't resist sharing this absolutely beautiful wedding that is featured on snippet&ink today.

This couple opted for a small intimate wedding: just the two of them, their officiant, and their photographers. The result is a stunningly personalized celebration. Although they decided to elope, the couple wanted their family and friends to share in their nuptials and created a mimmo+naz Super 8 video to document the day set to Gavin DeGraw's beautiful Follow Through. {Video. Lyrics.}

{This 4 minute video is definitely worth a look. It is not only a touching depiction of a unique elopement but also - and more importantly - it captures the intimate and candid wedding ceremony of a couple blissfully in love}.
What more could you ask for in a wedding?

The beautiful photography and Super 8 Video were captured by Toronto's mimmo+naz.

Update: Contact mimmo+naz if you are interested in a lovely super 8 video and photography package of your own!

Attention Vancouver Fashionistas!

/// body politic ///
is now open

I am SO excited to announce the much anticipated opening of body politic, the chic new SOMA district boutique offering sustainable fashion.

Owner and Visionary Nicole Ritchie-Oseen fuses her environmental awareness with her trained eye for fashion to create "sustainable design, limitless style." She set out to find independent designers from Vancouver to New York to provide her guests with natural and sustainable pieces made in North America.

The results of her search are fabulous, evident in body politic's Spring 2009 look book.

I can't wait to visit my friend Nicole and her lovely boutique this weekend.

a rustic affair.

In keeping with the rustic elegance Angela and Ryan are striving for, I thought this lovely wedding was perfect for inspiration.

I love every detail of this wedding and think Hope + Adam did a brilliant job of asserting their personal style throughout the event.

This couple is just gorgeous. I adore her veil and beautiful dress {not to mention her handsome groom's unique style}.

Check out the wedding party style - don't you just love the short bridesmaids' dresses paired with the slouchy boots and the groomsmans' Levis and Chucks? Plus, I don't think I've seen a cuter flower girl dress in a long time: I love the tutu!

Simply Beautiful.

These stunning photos were captured by the oh-so-talented Matthew Morgan.

{Fun} Wedding Literature

[$10.17 on Amazon]

I received this book for Christmas and have had a tonne of fun flipping through it.

I would recommend it as a great shower gift for any bride-to be as it is quite entertaining. This tongue-in-cheek book includes "How To" Instructions for everything from 'how to aide a drunk bridesmaid' to 'how to end a disaster speech.'

Clearly, I found this so funny because it is full of examples of the wedding planner's day-of duties {and worst nightmares}
