Jonas Peterson

My love for Jonas Peterson is no secret. I think his photography is just brilliant, each image a piece art.

His most recent wedding, recently featured on Once Wed, is nothing short of the magic he's known for. Shot in the McLaren Vale wine region of Australia, the wedding has the organic, laid-back glamour Ben and I are hoping to accomplish; it's the perfect inspiration. The last two photos are my favourite.

A Lovely Swedish Wedding.

The amazing Jonas Peterson has done it again. The manner by which he captured this amazing Swedish wedding resonates with me. So much so that I'm quite sure I dreamed about it last night (and so wedding brain begins...)

I love the neutral colour palette this couple chose as it complements the landscape brilliantly. Their "first look" from across the water gave me goosebumps. How utterly romantic. There is truly something to be said about a simple, personalized, wedding.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the world would be a better place if North America adopted a Scandinavian lifestyle.

Vintage Inspired Farm Wedding

I adore all of the classic and romantic details of this farm wedding recently featured on Once Wed. Even the photography, captured by Tec Petaja Photography, has a glamorous vintage feel.

The couple was able to capitalize on the natural charm of the venue while personalizing the space with romantic lighting and whimsical, flowy, fabrics. These elements encapsulated their old school theme and unique vintage style. A perfect example of how a venue can inspire the overall ambience.

Gorgeous Spanish Wedding

I am not the first person to re-post photos from this wedding and I won't be the last; however, I haven't been able to shake the following images from my head since they appeared on Once Wed last week.

My favourite details? The bride's gorgeous braid, the bridal party dressed in grey, the dreamlike reception decor (I will never get enough of those lights), the whimsical bunting, and the hay barrel ceremony seating... among other fabulous details.

Family Tree

I always love sharing unique ideas for ceremony and reception decor, especially when they are as creative and unique as this one.


I love the effect of the empty vintage frames with the framed photographs against the forested background. It's altogether whimsical and romantic. It's also beautiful to see such a pretty project used at the site of the couple's ceremony. Quite often the ceremony venue is overlooked and the "special projects" are saved for the reception site. I just love this idea for the fact that it keeps guests in the moment of the ceremony for a little longer.

The rest of the wedding is equally amazing.

Ryan and Angela, the Ceremony

The time has finally come to post the beautiful photos from Ryan and Angela’s Wedding, starting today with the Ceremony.

Miranda Karkling – along with her second shooter Jason Nicholls - captured the beautiful series of events, including some very special and touching moments. I would like to thank and acknowledge them both for their flawless collaboration and amazing final product. I am in awe of you both.

Miranda, I am so proud of the woman and professional photographer you’ve become. I am honored to have had the opportunity to witness the transformation; I am ecstatic to see what you accomplish next. {Big Love.}

Beaming rays of sunshine greeted Ryan and Angela the morning of Saturday September 12, 2009, offering a beautiful – yet humid – day for a wedding in Vancouver.

The bride wore a stunning strapless gown by San Patrick for Pronovias in "Binefar." The lovely bridesmaids wore various After Six styles from the Dessy Group in Aubergine.


Ryan surprised Angie with a gorgeous Tiffany bracelet and special note before the ceremony – he is so sweet.



This gown complemented Angie so perfectly and (literally) took everyone’s breath away.


The bride’s beautiful hairpiece was made by Powder Blue Bijoux.


This dress is absolutely gorgeous. I love this photo.


This photo is best described by the bride, herself: “I spent so much time laughing, it was such an amazing day!”


The bride – in her comfortable, yet glamorous, flats – paying respect to the 3’’ heels her bridesmaids rocked all day. [You looked amazing, ladies].



I just love these photos of the flower girls & ring bearer. They were so committed to their roles [best petal-dispersion I’ve ever seen] and were so important to the ceremony. It is clear that they love their auntie and uncle very much.


Because the ceremony took place on a mountain, cell reception was spotty. About 15 minutes after the ceremony was scheduled to have started, I received a voicemail from a very calm, cool, and collected bridesmaid requesting to be picked up as the limo had overheated ½ way up the hill. These girls can handle anything –broken down limos and all – and still have a vogue session while exiting their backup mode of transportation. I love it. {Major kudos, Angie and co.}.

Although the bride all but sprint down the aisle, Miranda was able to catch this candid of Angela as she sees Ryan for the first time. What a fantastic moment.


This photo gives me goose bumps; I love Ryan’s expression. He looks at Angie like this all the time, it’s touching.
